Saratoga County Tentative Assessment Rolls
for Town of Saratoga (including Village of
Schuylerville and Village of Victory
Assessor's Office is responsible for:
-
Establishing and maintaining property
assessments which are used to satisfy the
Town, County, Village of Schuylerville and
School tax levy. (Village of Victory
currently maintains their own assessments
for village taxation purposes)
-
Maintaining property ownership, inventory
records, recording sales and exemption
filings
-
Helping taxpayers to fill out and file
exemption forms
-
Keeping current with property tax laws and
changes to the roll of assessor by taking
classes and attending conferences.
Exemptions available in the Town of Saratoga
include:
Residential STAR exemptions
Enhanced (or Senior) STAR exemptions
Low Income Senior exemptions (requires proof of
age and yearly income information)
Low Income Disability exemptions (requires proof
of disability and proof of income information)
Veteran Exemptions - requires proof of
honorable discharge from the branch of service
and service during specific dates of US conflict
Agricultural exemptions - requires soil maps
from the County, proof of income from
agricultural purposes (must be a minimum of
$10,000 income), lease agreements, etc.
To qualify for the Low Income Senior exemptions,
currently the following exists for income

renewal forms will be mailed to Town residents
in mid-December. If
you would like to fill out and turn in your
renewal form earlier, forms may be obtained at
the Assessor's Office or by accessing the State
Office of Real Property Service (ORPS) website @ www.orps.state.ny.us and
clicking on forms.
