DRAFT MINUTES
September 28,

Chairman
Ian Murray called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.
Planning Clerk Linda McCabe called the roll: �Chairman Ian Murray � present, Laurie

George Olsen - present, Alternate Christopher
Koval - present.
Also attending: �Town Engineer Ken Martin and Mr. Barton. �(Sign-in sheet is on file in the Clerk�s
office)
Chairman Ian Murray stated that as they had no applicants before them, he wanted to review the upcoming proposed Local Law #9, which is for solar energy systems.� He explained that the Joint Board has been working on this for quite some time and had presented it to the Town Board.� The Town Board will be holding a public hearing on this at their next meeting.� He wanted the Board to be aware that they will have the responsibility of issuing special use permits for the solar energy systems; he then discussed the aspects of the proposed law with them.� The Board had a lengthy discussion and since they will be the ones dealing with this, Chairman Ian Murray asked them to please thoroughly read through the law prior to their next meeting, in preparation for future special use permit applications concerning this.� The Board agreed.
Chairman Ian Murray then discussed with the Board the standing moratorium on mass clearing of trees for view sheds.� He explained the Joint Board has been working on producing a proposed law for this due to the need for controls and corrective measures in order to protect the Town.� The Joint Board has been reviewing the regulations of other municipalities and continue their research to help them find what will work best for the Town of Saratoga.�
