AGENDA MEETING OF THE TOWN BOARD
OF THE TOWN OF
SARATOGA, 12 SPRING ST.,
Thursday, June
7, 2018
7:00 P.M.
Supervisor Thomas Wood opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance
at 7:00 p.m.
Roll call: Linda A. McCabe, Town Clerk,
called the roll. Supervisor Thomas Wood-
present, Councilman Charles Hanehan- present, Councilman Michael McLoughlin – absent (arrived at 7:09 p.m.), Councilman
James Jennings – present, Councilman Gary Squires - present.
Also present: Zoning Officer Gil Albert, Deputy Clerk Michelle Conover, Ted Mosher, Randy O'Dell, Sarah Snowden and Wendy Lukas.
Presentation: James Buono, Potentia Management, LLC., partners with National Grid, presented an energy savings project for the Town Hall which could save the Town on energy and money. The project would be to convert all lighting in the Town Hall to LED lighting. After having gone through the Town's energy bills for the past year, he stated we should be paying $.11 per kilowatt for supply and delivery, and the Town currently pays Mega Watt $.17 per kilowatt for supply and delivery. He said we are paying Mega Watt far higher than other deliverers. He stated most rooms in the Town Hall have two or three 2 watt bulbs with 12 watt ballasts and if converted to LEDs, that would change to 20 watt fixtures on a driver, with a 10 year warranty. He stated there is an error in the information packets that says it is a 5 year warranty, but as previously stated, it is a 10 year warranty. If you choose to go with the conversion, all ballasts and lights will be replaced and the new lights will be 4000 lumens. The outdoor lights will have new fixtures and bulbs also. He said the conversion can be done within one week, once contracts are signed. The Town's Highway Department has converted and they are very happy with it. Discussion continued with the Board and Supervisor Thomas Wood stated the Board will talk about this and by Monday will have a decision. He added we can draft a resolution for the meeting if the Board decides to go forward.
James Buono stated he will provide the Board with references and if desired he can email the list to Supervisor Thomas Wood.
William Reynolds, Attorney for the Town, asked if electrical engineering work is part of this program and was told yes and the engineers are employed by National Grid.
James Buono thanked the Board.
