The monthof February is short in days but packed with town activities. A public hearing on the Country Inn PUD is scheduled for February 3rd at 7:00 PM.The next meeting of the Town Board is scheduled for Monday, February 14th at 7:00 p.m.Some of the items that will be covered at this meeting include: zoning officer's report, town clerk's report, supervisor's report, committee reports, appointing the town constable, a presentation on Bryants Bridge, approving Fire Protection Contracts with Schuylerville and Victory and approving an Emergency Medical Services Agreement with the General Schuyler Emergency Squad.On Thursday, February 10th the Town Board will conduct their monthly agenda meeting at which they will review agenda items scheduled for the February 14th meeting.In addition, at 6:00 PM prior to the agenda meeting, the first meeting of the Town Hall Building Committee will be conducted.At this first meeting there will be a review of previous steps taken by the town regarding plans for a new town hall and a review of the study on the condition of the current town hall.���

The Association of Towns will be conducting the annual Training School for town officials from February 20th thru 23rd.The school provides numerous staff development sessions that keep town officials up on the latest changes and developments in town government.Officials that will be attending from the town include Councilman Fred Drumm and Mike McLoughlin, Supervisor Tom Wood, Town Clerk Ruth Drumm, Assessor Catherine DeFelice, Town Justices Jack Ditch and David Mathis, and Town Attorney William Reynolds.Everyone is reminded that the monthly town newsletter, monthly calendar, and minutes of all town meetings are on the internet at www.townofsaratoga.com

����������� The Town Offices will be closed on Monday, February 21stfor the Presidents' Day Holiday.

Saratoga Lake Association News

���� Residents are encouraged to join the SLA for 2005.Dues are only $25. for the year.Barbara Farone and Ed Dweck will be serving on the Town Hall Building Committee.The official website of the Saratoga Lake Association is www.saratogalake.org.

Schuylerville-Victory Water Board News

The Water Board is currently reviewing plans for bringing the Victory Water plant on line.Construction of the new water treatment plant has stopped for the winter and will resume in the spring.It is hoped that the new water treatment plant will be completed by August, 2005.The next water workshop will be held in Victory on February 8th at 6:00 p.m. and the next Water Board meeting will be held in Schuylerville on February 15th�� at 7:00 p.m. ��

February Tax Collection Schedule

During the month of February Town Tax Collector Joyce Shaver will be in the Town Hall Conference Room on Monday's only from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.The Town Office will be closed Monday February 21st .Taxes may be mailed to Joyce at anytime.If you have any questions for Joyce call her at 695-3644 X 18.

Quaker Springs Fire Department News

����������� On Thursday, February 24th, The Quaker Springs Fire Department will offer a Heart Saver CPR Course at the fire house from 6:00 9:00 PM.Jane Peck will provide the instruction.The program is open to all residents of the town and provides an excellent opportunity for residents to learn skills that may ultimately save an individuals life.The Board of Fire Commissioners continues to study possible locations for a satellite fire station.

General Schuyler Emergency Squad News

����������� On Saturday evening January 29th, the General Schuyler Emergency Squad conducted their annual banquet.Members were recognized for the number of runs that they responded to in 2004 and for total Career Run Responses.During 2004 the squad responded to 741 calls.Top Run responders included Dee Macica with 145 runs, Dick Behrens 142 runs, Bruce Cornell 134 runs, Pat Hayes 76 runs, Sherry Doubleday 69 runs, George Garney 67 runs, Linda McInerney 53 runs and Joe Sherman 51 runs.Top members in total Career Runs recognized were Dick Behrens with 2,542 runs, Bill Bruce 1,708 runs, Bruce Cornell 1,238 runs, Sherry Doubleday 1,128 runs, and Pat Hayes 965 runs.The squad was recognized for being the leading agency in Saratoga County for expertise, equipment and innovative projects.
