Text Box: Warm Greetings to Everyone!
February will be another month filled with town activities.  The next meeting of the Town Board is scheduled for Monday February 9th at 7:30 p.m.  On Sunday, February 1st , I will be attending a new supervisors training session held in Albany.  The Association of Towns will be conducting the annual Training School for town officials from February 15th thru 18th.  The school provides numerous staff development sessions that keep town officials up on the latest changes and developments in town government.  Officials that will be attending from the Town of Saratoga include Councilmen Fred Drumm, Mike McLoughlin, and Charles Hanehan, Supervisor Tom Wood, Town Clerk Ruth Drumm, Assessor Catherine Defelice, Town Justice Jack Ditch, and Town Attorney Bill Reynolds.
Recent conversations with residents of the town, Zoning Office Bob Hathaway, and members of the Town Planning Board and Zoning Board of Appeals suggest that a few changes need to be made to the Zoning Ordinance and fee schedule.  We will be meeting this month to identify the needed changes and prepare for a public hearing that will be held later in the year.    The town board strongly continues to support its Comprehensive Master Plan goal of protecting and preserving agricultural land.  A guide on how to limit development pressure and keep land in farming is available from the American Farmland Trust at  www.farmland.org.
The Town Cable committee is negotiating with Time Warner in an effort to agree on a new cable contract.  The Town Park Committee continues to investigate possible park sites.  It is hoped that an appropriate site will be located soon.
New flags to replace the worn flags at the Town Hall and Town Garage have been purchased by the town.

Text Box: Animal Control Officer Marshall Truax has identified some additions that need to be made in the Town Dog Control Law.  The Town Board will consult with the Town Attorney and begin discussions of the proposed changes.
Planning Board Changes Meeting Night
The planning Board will now conduct their monthly meetings on Wednesday nights at 7:30 p.m. in the upstairs meeting room.  It is felt that by changing both the day and meeting location, the parking, lighting, temperature, and acoustics will be greatly improved.
