BUDGET WORKSHOP MEETING OF THE TOWN BOARD
OF THE TOWN OF SARATOGA, 30 FERRY ST.,
SCHUYLERVILLE, NY
Wednesday,
September 24, 2008
6:00 P.M.
Supervisor Thomas Wood opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance
at 6:07 p.m.
Roll call: Ruth Drumm, Town Clerk,
called the roll. Supervisor Thomas
Wood- present, Councilman Fred Drumm- present, Councilman Charles Hanehan-
absent, Councilwoman Betty Koval – present, Councilman Michael McLoughlin –
present
New Business:
On a motion by Councilwoman
Betty Koval and seconded by Councilman Michael McLoughlin the following Resolution #08-114 – Approving Leases was adopted by vote: Supervisor Thomas Wood - aye, Councilman Fred Drumm –
aye, Councilman Charles Hanehan – absent, Councilwoman Betty Koval – aye, and
Councilman Michael McLoughlin – aye.
Carried 4 – 0.
WHEREAS, the Town has excess space in the Town Hall
Annex at 12 Spring Street, Schuylerville, NY which is unneeded for Town
purposes, and
WHEREAS, the Town Board desires to lease such excess
space for a term of one year for fair and adequate consideration, it is hereby
RESOLVED, that Unit 4 in the Town
Hall Annex, 12 Spring Street, Schuylerville, NY, be leased for a term of one
year to the Schuylerville Community Theatre for a monthly rental of $50.
RESOLVED, that Unit 5 in the Town
Hall Annex, 12 Spring Street, Schuylerville, NY, be leased for a term of one
year to Rebuilding Together Saratoga County for a monthly rental of $50.
RESOLVED, that the Town Supervisor
is authorized to enter into the lease agreements to carry out this resolution.
This
resolution is subject to permissive referendum, and shall become effective 30
days from the date of its adoption, if no petition for referendum is filed.
On a motion Supervisor Thomas
Wood and seconded by Councilman Fred Drumm the following Resolution #08-115 – State
Police Satellite Office Lease was adopted by vote: Supervisor Thomas
Wood - aye, Councilman Fred Drumm – aye, Councilman Charles Hanehan – absent,
Councilwoman Betty Koval – aye, and Councilman Michael McLoughlin – aye. Carried 4 – 0.
WHEREAS, the Town Board of the Town of Saratoga agrees that
it is in the best interest of the
townspeople to have State Police presence in our town, therefore be it
RESOLVED by the Town Board of the Town of Saratoga to authorize Supervisor Thomas Wood to enter into a written
lease agreement with the New York State Police for the use of town hall office
space for a State Police satellite station from October 1, 2008 through
September 30, 2009 per review by Town Attorney William Reynolds.
There was discussion by
the board members on the budget accounts A8160.1 through B3820 Revenues as
listed in the tentative budget. Supervisor Thomas Wood will complete the
tentative budget for distribution to the board by September 30th.
