Lake. Surrender Week, celebrating the
229th Anniversary of the Battles of Saratoga was very successful
with approximately 500 people participating in events. As I mentioned last month, this year was
also the 225th Anniversary of the Battle of Yorktown and in the
annals of history it is unique that two complete British armies surrendered
during a war at both Saratoga and Yorktown.
I attended the commemorations in Yorktown, Virginia with four other
re-enactors from the Town of Saratoga.
The largest commemoration was a multimedia show and symphony that
reviewed the history of the entire American Revolution including a major
segment focused on the Battles of Saratoga.
