SPECIAL MEETING OF THE TOWN BOARD

OF THE TOWN OF SARATOGA, 30 FERRY ST.,

SCHUYLERVILLE, NY

 

Thursday, July 20, 2006

Noon

 

Supervisor Thomas Wood opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance

at 12:01 p.m.

 

Roll call: Ruth Drumm, Town Clerk, called the roll.  Supervisor Thomas Wood- present, Councilman Fred Drumm- present, Councilman Charles Hanehan- present, Councilwoman Betty Koval – present, Councilman Michael McLoughlin – absent

Also present:  Deputy Town Clerk Linda McCabe, Town Attorney William Reynolds and George Pravda.

 

Old business: 

Resolution #06-73 – Lakeside Narrows PUD, George Pravda, 1460 Rt. 9P – SBL #180.18-1-2 & 3- Seven 2,000 sq. ft. townhouse units on 1.02 +/- acres – Lake Commercial District.  Supervisor Thomas Wood gave George Pravda the option of waiting for the August 14, 2006 meeting for a determination on the tabled resolution since only four of the five Councilmen are present.  George Pravda opted to wait. 

 

After board review of candidates, Resolution #06-79 - Appointing an Assistant Code Enforcement Officer, Building Inspector, and Fire Code Officer was introduced by Supervisor Thomas Wood and seconded by Councilman Fred Drumm as follows:

RESOLVED, that the Town Board hereby appoints Gilbert Albert as Assistant Code Enforcement Officer, Building Inspector, and Fire Code Officer.  Supervisor Thomas Wood – aye, Councilman Fred Drumm – aye, Councilman Charles Hanehan – aye, Councilwoman Betty Koval - aye, Councilman Michael McLoughlin – absent.

Carried 4 – 0.

 

Supervisor Thomas Wood reported that Jim Vianna, finished the surveying of the Coveville parcels number 183.-1-13 & 35 & 36.  The surveying work was complicated and involved.  It took longer than expected to do the job thoroughly.  Resolution #06-80 was introduced by Councilman Fred Drumm and seconded by Councilwoman Betty Koval as follows: 

WHEREAS, the Town Board of the Town of Saratoga acquired two parcels as a gift from Zene Garnsey that were formerly a portion of the Trolley Right-of-Way in Coveville and a previously acquired portion of the Old Champlain Canal in Coveville from Saratoga County, parcels # 183.-1-13 & 35 & 36, and

WHEREAS, the properties were surveyed for accurate deed descriptions, and

 WHEREAS, the surveys were complicated and more involved than expected, therefore be it

RESOLVED, by the Town Board of the Town of Saratoga to authorize payment to James Vianna, Surveyor, for an additional $3,500 from Parks A7110.4. 

Supervisor Thomas Wood – aye, Councilman Fred Drumm – aye, Councilman Charles Hanehan – aye, Councilwoman Betty Koval - aye, Councilman Michael McLoughlin – absent.

Carried 4 – 0.

 

The board agreed to direct Zoning Officer Robert Hathaway to pursue action to have the burned out Germain house on Schuyler Street removed and cleaned up.

v     Regular town board meeting – Monday, August 14, 2006 at 7:00 p.m.

 

A motion to adjourn at 1:08 p.m. was made by Councilman Charles Hanehan   

and seconded by Councilman Fred Drumm.  Supervisor Thomas Wood – aye, Councilman Fred Drumm – aye, Councilman Charles Hanehan – aye, Councilwoman Betty Koval - aye, Councilman Michael McLoughlin – absent.  Carried 4 – 0.
