SPECIAL MEETING OF THE TOWN BOARD

OF THE TOWN OF SARATOGA, 30 FERRY ST.,

SCHUYLERVILLE, NY

Supervisor Thomas Wood opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance

at 8:30 a.m.

 

Roll call: Ruth Drumm, Town Clerk, called the roll.  Supervisor Thomas Wood- present, Councilman Fred Drumm- present, Councilman Charles Hanehan- present, Councilwoman Betty Koval – present, Councilman Michael McLoughlin – present

Also present: Highway Superintendent Dave Hall

 

Old Business:  None.

 

New Business:

On a motion by Supervisor Thomas Wood and seconded by Councilman Charles Hanehan the following Resolution #08-36 – Authorization to Enter Into an Equipment Rental Agreement for a 2006 Gradal XL3100 was adopted by vote:  Supervisor Thomas Wood – aye, Councilman Fred Drumm – aye, Councilman Charles Hanehan – aye, Councilwoman Betty Koval - aye, Councilman Michael McLoughlin – aye Carried 5 – 0.

RESOLVED, that the Town Board of the Town of Saratoga authorizes Supervisor

Thomas Wood to enter into an Equipment Agreement with Vantage Equipment,

5985 Court Street Road, Syracuse, NY 13206 for the rental of a Gradal XL3100 in the

amount of $7,400 for February, 2008.    

 

A motion was made by Supervisor Thomas Wood and seconded by Councilwoman Betty Koval to authorize advertising for bids for the purchase of a 2006 Gradal XL3100.  The bids will be opened at the regular meeting on February 11, 2008.

 Supervisor Thomas Wood – aye, Councilman Fred Drumm – aye, Councilman Charles Hanehan – aye, Councilwoman Betty Koval - aye, Councilman Michael McLoughlin – aye    Carried 5 – 0.

 

A motion was made by Supervisor Thomas Wood and seconded by Councilman Charles Hanehan to enter into executive session to discuss a personnel matter at 8:39 a.m.

Supervisor Thomas Wood – aye, Councilman Fred Drumm – aye, Councilman Charles Hanehan – aye, Councilwoman Betty Koval - aye, Councilman Michael McLoughlin – aye     Carried 5 – 0.

 

A motion was made by Councilman Charles Hanehan and seconded by Councilman Fred Drumm to end the executive session and resume the special meeting at 8:50 a.m.

Supervisor Thomas Wood – aye, Councilman Fred Drumm – aye, Councilman Charles Hanehan – aye, Councilwoman Betty Koval - aye, Councilman Michael McLoughlin – aye    Carried 5 – 0.  No board action was taken.

 

 

 

 

After some board discussion on the wind energy moratorium set to expire in February, the board decided to extend the moratorium for another six months so that more information can be gathered.  Town Attorney William Reynolds will draft the local law and a public hearing will be held at the February 11th regular meeting. 

 

A motion to adjourn at 8:52 a.m. was made by Councilman Fred Drumm  

and seconded by Councilman Michael McLoughlin.  Supervisor Thomas Wood – aye, Councilman Fred Drumm – aye, Councilman Charles Hanehan – aye, Councilwoman Betty Koval - aye, Councilman Michael McLoughlin – aye.  Carried 5 – 0.
