Warm Greetings to Everyone!

The month of December is a time to think of giving to others, a time of celebration, and a time to reflect back on the past year.  It is amazing how fast the past 12 months have gone by.  During this time numerous changes have taken place in our town.  All of your elected and appointed officials have worked hard and have attempted to conduct town business in a way that reflected the wishes of town residents.  The next meeting of the Town Board is scheduled for Monday, December 13th at 7:00 p.m.  Some of the items that will be covered at this meeting include: zoning officer's report, town clerk's reports, supervisor's report, committee reports, and a public hearing on the new cable contract with Time Warner.   A special end of the year meeting will be conducted on December 29th  at 4:00 p.m. to conduct end of the year financial business.  During the month of January a committee will be formed to study the issue of a new town hall.  Anyone interested in serving and working on this committee should contact Tom Wood or any town board member.

The Town Offices will be closed on Friday, December  24th for the Christmas Holiday and Friday, December  31st for the New Year Holiday.

Saratoga Lake Association News

On December 14th at 7:00 p.m. the City of Saratoga Springs will conduct a final hearing on the Environmental Impact Statement regarding the use of Saratoga Lake as a source of water for the city of Saratoga Springs.  Of particular concern is the portion of this document that calls for the creation of a Saratoga Lake Watershed Management District.  Such a district would place severe restrictions on possible uses of the land in our town that falls within the watershed.  In addition, a great expense and resultant tax would be placed on town residents to pay for the watershed monitoring.  Such action would be a blatant example of taxation without representation.  Town residents are encouraged to go to the meeting and inform the city council that we are not going to accept these conditions.  The Saratoga Lake Association will be conducting their Holiday Mixer on Saturday, December 4th from 4:00 to 9:00 PM.  This will provide all members an opportunity to socialize and get to know each other better.     The official website of the Saratoga Lake Association is www.saratogalake.org
