Residents are encouraged to join the SLA for 2005. Dues are only $25. for the year. The next general membership meeting of the SLA will be held on May 26th at Panza’s Restaurant at 7:00 PM. The Annual meeting of the SLA is scheduled for July 28th at Panza’s Restaurant. The NY 9P bridge crossing Fish Creek is on the DOT list for upgrades. New York State Farmland Protection Program & Saratoga County Farmland and Open Space Preservation Program
The
Saratoga County Farmland and Open Space Preservation Committee has provided the
Town Hall with copies of the grant application for 2005. The package includes the program criteria
for eligible projects, the grant application form for open space projects and
the grant application form for
agriculture. The application
period opens on April 1st and closes June 30th.
Schuylerville-Victory Water Board News
The Water Board is currently working on the water budget. The next water workshop will be held in
Victory on April 12th at 6:00 p.m. and the next Water Board meeting
will be held in Schuylerville on April 19th at 7:00 p.m.
Quaker Springs Fire Department News
The Quaker Springs Fire Department conducted their highly
successful annual Corned-beef & Cabbage dinner at the firehouse on
March 13th. The annual membership banquet was conducted on Saturday, March 19th. On Sunday, May 1st the
annual Chicken Barbecue will be conducted from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Tickets are $8. for adults, $5. for children
age 6-12 and free for children 5 and under.
Take out meals are available.
For reservations call 584-3829 or 584-2758. The QSFD is looking for people that would like to volunteer to
become Firefighters or Fire Police.
David Nevins Fire Department News
The annual David Nevins Fire Department Banquet will be conducted
on April 9th at the Greenwich Elks.
New line officers were elected on March 31st. The David
Nevins Fire Department conducts BINGO every Sunday beginning at 5:30 P.M. in
the large meeting room at the Victory Office Complex.
General Schuyler Emergency Squad News
To help raise
money for their new building to be located on Route 29 between Louden Road and
Homestead Road, The GSES is staging a variety show at the Schuylerville High
School Auditorium on Friday, April 29th at 7:00 PM. Your support of this activity is encouraged.
The GSES is working with architects and builders on plans for
their new facilities. In addition, they
will be pursuing various grant sources to obtain new AEDs, a plymovent exhaust
system, and special biological safety jackets.
March For Parks
The twelfth annual March For Parks will be conducted
on Saturday, April 30th at
the Saratoga National Historical Park.
Many activities are scheduled throughout the day.
